01 · How it works

Classification and primary mechanism

Salvinorin A is a non-nitrogenous diterpenoid and ultra-potent, highly selective full agonist at kappa-opioid receptors. Unlike LSD, psilocybin, DMT, and mescaline, it has no meaningful binding affinity for serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. Kappa-opioid activity in sensory-gating networks can produce dysphoria, depersonalization, gravitational distortions, and severe disruption of spatial awareness.

02 · Immediate effects

Recognize the effects

Signs of Use

  • Sudden laughter, unusual speech, or inability to respond normally
  • Profound depersonalization and loss of body identity
  • Gravitational, spatial, or environmental distortions
  • Stumbling, thrashing, running, or unsafe movement
  • Sweating, motor clumsiness, amnesia, or panic

Short Term

  • Intense dissociation, dysphoria, and detachment from reality
  • Floating, stretching, folding, or being pulled sensations
  • Complete disruption of spatial awareness and perceived gravity
  • Confusion, anxiety, or frightening hallucinations
  • Acute fall, traffic, drowning, and blunt-trauma risk

Long Term

  • Persistent depersonalization or distress after a frightening experience
  • Accidental trauma associated with acute dissociation
  • Possible ongoing anxiety, panic, or sleep disruption
  • No typical physical dependence or withdrawal syndrome

03 · Long-term consequences

Injury during acute dissociation

The primary danger is traumatic injury while a person cannot reliably perceive, remember, or control their surroundings. Concentrated 5X, 20X, or 80X extracts can make dose strength unpredictable, and retail products may be mislabeled or contaminated.

Medical emergency

Identifying an emergency

Call 911 for head trauma, severe bleeding, drowning, persistent combative behavior, chest pain, seizures, trouble breathing, or failure to recover as the effect clears. Keep the person away from stairs, roads, water, and hard or sharp objects.

Safety first: Clear stairs, sharp objects, roads, and hard edges from the area
